• Preparing the family for their trip, ensuring the family is comfortable and confident before their journey to Eastern Europe.

• Preparing all the logistics for the travel of the family to Eastern Europe.

• Assisting the family throughout the whole adoption process in Eastern Europe.

• Meeting the family at the airport/railway stations during all arrivals/departures.

• Arranging all lodging accommodation for the adoptive family during the adoption process according to family’s preference.

• Accompanying the family to the regional adoption unit to obtain necessary papers for visiting an orphanage.

• Visit an orphanage with the family, translating services in communication with the director of an orphanage, children’s caregivers, doctor of an orphanage and children.

• Preparing all the necessary papers for the court hearing.

• Preparing the family for the court hearing.

• Assisting the family in obtaining a Court decree, new birth certificate and passport for a child/children.

• Translation of all post-adoption documents, medical records, etc.

• Applying for a visa for an adopted child/children at the US Consulate in Eastern Europe.

• Preparing the family and adopted child/children for departure.

• Advising the family on the necessary steps of post-adoption obligations in accordance with adoption laws of the country the child/children was/were adopted from.

 

 

 

Financing your adoption process:

1. Adoption loans: usually have low interest rates for the purpose of financing adoption. Banks like Chase and Wachowia offer adoption loans. 

2. Home equity lines of credit: you can deduct the interest on your taxes.

3. Family can borrow against their 401K.

4. Federal Tax credit of  $13,170. Eligible families who earn less than $150,000 annually.

5. Employer financial assistance for adoption. 

6. Grants through many grant foundations.

7. State tax credit.
